Wall paint - Rectory Red No. 217

About Rectory Red No. 217

Rectory Red is an intense, traditional red with a touch of black that gives it an aged and slightly weathered look. It is just as at home in modern rooms as it is in the traditional rectories for which it is named. Combined with Joa's White or other neutral tones, it takes on a particularly elegant appearance.

Colour Effect & Light

Rectory Red makes a confident statement and unfolds its full charm in the evening by candlelight and lamplight. In smaller rooms or areas with little natural light, it creates a deliberately enveloping, intimate character. Combined with light textiles and warm lighting, it creates a real wow effect.

Combine like the pros

The official complementary white for Rectory Red is Strong White, which is ideal for ceilings, mouldings, and adjacent areas. Colour schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: London Clay & Tanner's Brown · Strong White & Great White · Down Pipe & Pitch Black · Strong White & Ammonite.

The right primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends the coordinated primer under Rectory Red: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.
