Wall paint - Bible Black No. 225

Bible Black No. 225 – Colour Description

Dylan Thomas called the intense black of a starless night “Bible Black” in his play “Under Milk Wood.” This dark purple hue lends opulence and depth to any surface – and like the slightly stronger Paean Black in Full Gloss, it is a popular choice for front doors.

A Tone from the Farrow & Ball Archive

Bible Black is one of the Farrow & Ball archive colours: no longer in the current colour card, but still available in its original quality. Each tin is mixed to order. Due to the high pigmentation, the tone changes with the daylight – softer in the morning, deeper in the evening.

Combine Like the Pros

The official complementary white for Bible Black is Joa's White – ideal for ceilings, skirting boards, and adjacent areas. Colour schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: Dove Tale & Charleston Gray.

The Right Primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends the corresponding primer for use under Bible Black: Primer & Undercoat – Dark Tones.
