Wall Paint - Off-Black No. 57

About Off-Black No. 57

Off-Black is exactly what its name suggests: a softer alternative to a pure, pitch black that is suitable for front doors, wooden panelling and (for the brave among colour enthusiasts) for the walls of any small room that demands a bit more character.

Colour Effect & Light

Off-Black envelops the room in dramatic depth: the ultimate choice for bold interiors. In smaller rooms or areas with little natural light, it deliberately creates an encompassing, intimate character. Combined with light textiles and warm lighting, it creates a real wow effect.

Combining like the pros

The official complementary white to Off-Black is Blackened, ideal for ceilings, mouldings and adjoining surfaces. Colour schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: All White & Blackened · Eating Room Red & Brinjal · Nancy's Blushes & Stone Blue.

The right primer

For optimum coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends using the matching primer under Off-Black: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.

Available Finishes

• Estate Emulsion: Walls & ceilings, the iconic chalky matt finish (2% sheen)
• Modern Emulsion: Kitchens, bathrooms, hallways & children's rooms, washable and suitable for damp areas (7% sheen)

Coverage & Application

1 litre covers approx. 12 m² per coat; two coats are recommended. All Farrow & Ball paints are water-based, low-odour and low-emission (A+ indoor air quality). Tip: Use the sample pot (100 ml) to paint generous sample areas on at least two walls, as every Farrow & Ball shade changes with the light.
