Wall paint - Pitch Black No. 256

About Pitch Black No. 256

Pitch Black is exactly what its name suggests: a pure, bold, uncomplicated black. It is a classic favorite for metalwork and woodwork and is also excellent as a wall color for small rooms, especially when painted in Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion, whose mattness gives it an almost velvety appearance.

Color Effect & Light

Pitch Black envelops the room with dramatic depth: the supreme discipline for bold interiors. In smaller rooms or with little natural light, it deliberately creates an enveloping, intimate character. Combined with light textiles and warm lighting, it creates a real wow effect.

Combine Like a Pro

The official complementary white for Pitch Black is Dimpse, ideal for ceilings, trim, and adjacent surfaces. Color schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: Wevet & Ammonite · Cornforth White & Purbeck Stone · Mole's Breath & Pigeon · Pink Ground & Templeton Pink.

The Right Primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends the coordinated primer under Pitch Black: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.
