Our traditional mid-grey. The most traditional blue-grey on our colour card was created when a white room was discoloured by the sooty residue of an oil lamp. Lamp Room Gray creates a softer and more vibrant look than Pavilion Gray, yet still retains its timeless effect. In smaller rooms, it appears surprisingly strong. The better lit the room, the softer Lamp Room Gray's intensity becomes. Generally, both finishes (both Estate Emulsion and Modern Emulsion) are similar in terms of covering power and colour brilliance. It uses resin, a very high-quality binder rarely found in conventional paints. This results in a much more intense effect compared to many commercially available wall paints. The high colour quality also leads to extremely high coverage. Farrow & Ball has all paints traditionally produced and quality-checked at their factory in England.  MODERN EMULSION: Farrow & Ball's water-based "Modern Emulsion" wall paint attracts attention with its high resistance to modern challenges. Stains, abrasions and marks are no problem for this paint finish. Thus, the Modern Emulsion finish represents a welcome alternative to Estate Emulsion and can ideally be applied in kitchens, children's rooms and other high-traffic areas.
