Wall paint - Vardo No. 288

About Vardo No. 288

Vardo takes its name from the highly decorative horse-drawn wagons used by the Roma people across Great Britain, which were often painted in vibrant shades just like this one. Pair it with light greys like Ammonite or Strong White to make it the star of any room.

Colour Effect & Light

Vardo brings clarity and depth to rooms, ranging from a fresh coastal blue to an elegant evening mood. In smaller rooms or areas with little natural light, it creates a deliberate, enveloping, and intimate character. Combined with light textiles and warm lighting, it creates a real wow factor.

Expert Colour Combinations

The official complementary white for Vardo is Ammonite, ideal for ceilings, skirting boards, and adjacent areas. Colour schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: Ammonite & Strong White · Pale Powder & Cornforth White · Mole's Breath & Worsted · Radicchio & Tanner's Brown.

The Right Primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends using the matching primer under Vardo: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.

Coverage & Application

1 litre covers approximately 12 m² per coat; two coats are recommended. All Farrow & Ball paints are water-based, low-odour, and low-VOC (A+ indoor air quality). Tip: Use the sample pot (100 ml) to paint generous test patches on at least two walls, as every Farrow & Ball shade changes with the light.
