Wall paint - Tanner's Brown No. 255

About Tanner's Brown No. 255

Tanner's Brown is a deep dark brown that appears almost black in certain lighting conditions. It is a good alternative to pure black because it reduces contrast. It is particularly charming in well-lit rooms, where its warm red undertones become more apparent.

Colour Effect & Light

Tanner's Brown envelops the room in dramatic depth: the ultimate choice for bold interiors. In smaller rooms or areas with little daylight, it consciously creates an enveloping, intimate character. Combined with light-coloured textiles and warm lighting, it creates a real wow effect.

Combining like the Pros

The official complementary white for Tanner's Brown is Joa's White, ideal for ceilings, skirting boards, and adjacent areas. Colour schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: Tallow & Stirabout · Jitney & Dead Salmon · Calluna & Brassica · Sulking Room Pink & De Nimes.

The Right Primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends using the coordinated primer under Tanner's Brown: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.
