Wall paint - Smelt Black No. G18

About Smelt Black No. G18

Smelt Black sits between Railings and Off-Black and is perfect as a soft metallic tone for use on ironmongery.

A colour from the Farrow & Ball Archive

Smelt Black is part of the Farrow & Ball Archive: no longer in the current colour card, but still available in its original quality. Each tin is mixed to order. Due to the high pigmentation, the tone changes with the daylight: softer in the morning, deeper in the evening.

Combine like the pros

The official complementary white for Smelt Black is Drop Cloth, ideal for ceilings, mouldings, and adjacent areas. Colour schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: Calluna & Brassica.

The right primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends using the coordinated primer under Smelt Black: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.
