Wall paint - Hopper Head No. 305

About Hopper Head No. 305

Hopper Head is inspired by the handsome iron containers used to catch rainwater from downpipes. This classic charcoal sits between our best-selling Railings and Down Pipe, creating inviting spaces to retreat to. It pairs well with almost any Farrow & Ball colour and looks particularly dramatic when used on walls, ceilings, and woodwork alike.

Colour Effect & Light

Hopper Head envelops a room in dramatic depth: the ultimate choice for bold interiors. In smaller rooms or those with limited natural light, it intentionally creates an enveloping, intimate character. When combined with light textiles and warm lighting, it delivers a real wow effect.

Combine Like a Pro

The official complementary white for Hopper Head is Blackened, ideal for ceilings, skirting boards, and adjoining areas. Farrow & Ball recommended colour schemes: Blackened & All White · Pavilion Gray & Plummett · Selvedge & Sulking Room Pink · Wine Dark & Pitch Black.

The Right Primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends using the coordinated primer under Hopper Head: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.

Coverage & Application

1 litre covers approx. 12 m² per coat; two coats are recommended. All Farrow & Ball paints are water-based, low-odour, and low-VOC (A+ indoor air quality). Tip: Use our sample pot (100 ml) to paint generous test patches on at least two walls, as every Farrow & Ball shade changes with the light.
