Wall paint - Down Pipe No. 26

About Down Pipe No. 26

Down Pipe is a true Farrow & Ball classic. This deep lead grey with its blue and green undertones creates a strong and complex effect on any surface. It is just as suitable as a background for your favorite gallery as it is for skirting boards that visually tie a room together, or as a dramatic shade for the entryway.

Colour Effect & Light

Down Pipe wraps a room in dramatic depth: the ultimate choice for bold interiors. In smaller rooms or those with little natural light, it intentionally creates an enveloping, intimate character. Combined with light textiles and warm lighting, it delivers a real wow factor.

Combine like the pros

The official complementary white for Down Pipe is Blackened, ideal for ceilings, mouldings, and adjacent surfaces. Colour schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: Blackened & Cornforth White · Pavilion Gray & Manor House Gray · Plummett & Hopper Head · Arsenic & Rangwali.

The right primer

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends the coordinated primer for Down Pipe: Primer & Undercoat Dark Tones.

Coverage & Application

1 litre covers approx. 12 m² per coat; two coats are recommended. All Farrow & Ball paints are water-based, low-odour, and low-VOC (A+ indoor air quality). Tip: Use the sample pot (100 ml) to paint generous test patches on at least two walls, as every Farrow & Ball shade changes with the light.
