Farrow & Ball has been a pioneer in paint production since 1946. They produce their paints under strict quality control in Dorset, England. Farrow & Ball is particularly distinguished by its colour depth and brilliance and differs from many conventional paint manufacturers in this respect. Particularly noteworthy is the quality of the fillers, so that an incredible covering power can be achieved from one can of Farrow & Ball paint. Unlike many industrial paint manufacturers, Farrow & Ball uses pure colour pigments and colour ingredients such as chalk or kaolin. The precision that Farrow & Ball achieves with this is considered unsurpassed worldwide.

How much Farrow & Ball paint you need depends entirely on the chosen finish. In general, both finishes (Estate Emulsion and Modern Emulsion) are similar in terms of opacity and colour brilliance. However, the following overview is suitable as a conservative guide for the required amount of paint:

Finish ESTATE EMULSION
Farrow & Ball's "Estate Emulsion" wall paint is characterised by a high pigment density. It uses resin, a very high-quality binder that is rarely found in conventional paints.

This means that, unlike many commercially available wall paints, the paint has a much more intense effect. The high colour quality also leads to extremely high coverage. Farrow & Ball traditionally produces all paints in its factory in England and tests them for quality.

Finish MODERN EMULSION
Farrow & Ball's water-based "Modern Emulsion" wall paint attracts attention due to its high resistance to the challenges of modern life. Stains, scuffs and marks are no problem for this paint finish. This makes the Modern Emulsion finish a welcome alternative to Estate Emulsion and can ideally be applied in kitchens, children's rooms and other high-traffic areas.
