Wall paint - Cook's Blue No. 237

About Cook's Blue No. 237

Cook's Blue is a bright, richly pigmented blue that originates from Calke Abbey in Derbyshire, where it was discovered in a kitchen cupboard. This vibrant color is said to repel flies and is perfect for kitchens and outdoor dining areas.

Color Effect & Light

Cook's Blue lends clarity and depth to rooms, ranging from a fresh coastal blue to an elegant evening mood. Due to its high pigmentation, the tone changes with the daylight: softer in the morning, deeper in the evening.

Combine like the pros

The official complementary white for Cook's Blue is Slipper Satin, ideal for ceilings, mouldings, and adjacent surfaces. Color schemes recommended by Farrow & Ball: Arsenic & Incarnadine · Blackened & Borrowed Light · Parma Gray & Pavilion Gray · Lulworth Blue & Hague Blue.

For optimal coverage and durability, Farrow & Ball recommends using the coordinated primer under Cook's Blue: Primer & Undercoat Mid Tones.
