An espresso cup usually holds 60–90 ml, while a single espresso itself is about 25–30 ml. The extra space prevents spilling and leaves room for the crema. For a double espresso, a cup of around 90 ml is ideal.

For a cappuccino, a cup with a volume of about 150–200 ml is standard. For a milky coffee or latte macchiato, it is better to reach for a mug with 250–400 ml. You can find the dimensions for every cup on the product page.

A preheated cup absorbs less heat from the coffee, so it stays hot longer and develops its aroma better. This makes a noticeable difference, especially with small, thick-walled espresso cups. It is sufficient to rinse the cup briefly with hot water.

Cups and mugs at LIVINGforme suit your coffee, tea, or cocoa ritual: from small espresso cups and classic cups with saucers to large mugs with handles. Many models from POMAX belong to tableware series like Porcelino White, Basil, Labo, or Weve, complemented by mugs from Dutch Rose Amsterdam, Lambert, and Living Nordic.

How to find the right cup

Volume by beverage: Espresso cups usually hold 60–90 ml, cappuccino cups about 150–200 ml, and coffee and tea mugs often 250–400 ml. The exact measurements are listed with each product.
Wall thickness: Thick-walled cups keep espresso warm longer; rinse them briefly with hot water beforehand so the drink doesn't cool down.
With or without a handle: A handle should offer enough room for at least two fingers. Mugs without handles feel nice and warm in the hand, but can become uncomfortably hot with boiling drinks.
Matching your machine: Measure the height under your coffee machine's spout in advance to ensure large mugs fit underneath.

Tip: Cups and mugs are the items you hold most often. Feel free to be a bit bolder here – a colored glaze or hand-painted design brings variety to your morning, even if your plates are plain white.
