COLOR DESCRIPTION

A warm mid-grey.

This modern grey is named after the renowned English interior designer John Fowler. Elephant's Breath is a rich mid-grey with a slight hint of magenta, but it appears almost purple in cool, west-facing rooms. For a subdued look, combine Elephant’s Breath with Charleston Gray and London Clay. This creates an inviting color scheme with earthy tones. But even in combination with other Contemporary Neutrals, such as the softer Strong White, it creates a calming ambiance.

HOW MUCH PAINT DO I NEED?

How much Farrow & Ball paint you need depends entirely on the chosen finish. In general, both finishes (both Estate Emulsion and Modern Emulsion) are similar in terms of coverage and color brilliance. However, the following overview is a conservative guideline for the required amount of paint:

Finish ESTATE EMULSION:

The "Estate Emulsion" wall paint from Farrow & Ball is characterized by a high pigment density. It uses resin, a very high-quality binder that is rarely found in conventional paints. 

This means that, unlike many commercially available wall paints, the color has a much more intense effect. The high color quality also leads to extremely high coverage. Farrow & Ball traditionally produces and quality-checks all its paints at its factory in England. 

Finish MODERN EMULSION:

The "Modern Emulsion" water-based wall paint from Farrow & Ball is gaining attention for its high resistance to the challenges of modern life. Stains, abrasions, and marks are no problem for this paint finish. Thus, the Modern Emulsion finish represents a thankful alternative to Estate Emulsion and can ideally be applied in kitchens, children's rooms, and other heavily used areas.
