Lucide is a Belgian family business based in Antwerp. Ward Mertens founded it in 1992, and today, the second generation, including his sons, is involved. Every year, Lucide develops around 500 new lighting fixtures.

Above all, pendant lights such as Gipsy, Thor, Marlowe, Farringdon, Talowe, and Torben. In addition, there is the Mizuko series as floor, table, and wall lamps, the Flatt LED table lamp, and the Greg ceiling spotlight. Dimensions and finishes can be found on the respective product page.

Talowe, Torben, Flatt, and Greg feature built-in LEDs with warm white light. Talowe and Torben can be connected to an external dimmer, while Flatt is dimmed directly via the lamp's switch. For the remaining models, you should insert a suitable light source, ideally an LED bulb. The base type is listed on the respective product page.

Lucide is a Belgian family business from Antwerp, founded in 1992 by Ward Mertens. With his sons Wim and Niek, the second generation is now on board. Every year, Lucide develops around 500 new lighting fixtures, which are sold in over 70 countries. The philosophy: clear forms and a good sense for trends, at fair prices.

What you can find from Lucide at our store

Pendant lights for dining tables, kitchen islands, and living rooms: Gipsy and Thor with four flames, Marlowe in black and gold, Farringdon in an industrial style, as well as Talowe and Torben with integrated LED light
The Mizuko series in black as floor, table, and wall lamps
The adjustable LED table lamp Flatt and the rotatable and tiltable ceiling spotlight Greg

How high should the pendant light hang?

Above the dining table, the bottom edge of the light should hang about 60 to 70 cm above the tabletop. This ensures that the light does not glare and the view across the table remains unobstructed. Multi-flame lights like Gipsy or Thor look particularly good over long tables, while a single large light like the 60 cm diameter Talowe works well over round tables. All Lucide pendant lights available from us are height-adjustable.

Are you unsure which light is right for you? In our stores in Fulda and Würzburg, we are happy to provide you with personal advice. You can find further models among all our lighting fixtures.
