Der Teppich sollte 20–30 cm breiter sein als dein Sofa, und mindestens die Vorderfüße von Sofa und Sesseln sollten darauf stehen. Bei einem 220 cm breiten Sofa sind das also rund 240–250 cm Teppichbreite. Zu kleine Teppiche lassen die Sitzgruppe zerstückelt wirken.

Plane rund um den Tisch 60–70 cm Überstand je Seite ein, damit die Stühle auch zurückgeschoben auf dem Teppich stehen. Für einen Tisch mit 90 × 200 cm brauchst du also etwa 210–230 × 320–340 cm. Unter runden Tischen funktioniert ein runder Teppich mit entsprechend größerem Durchmesser.

Am pflegeleichtesten sind Teppiche aus Kunstfasern und Wolle: Kunstfasern sind strapazierfähig und unempfindlich, Wolle ist von Natur aus schmutzabweisend. Viskose ist dagegen empfindlich gegenüber Feuchtigkeit und Flecken. Für Flur, Küche und Essplatz eignen sich flache, dichte Webarten besser als Hochflor.

Welche Teppiche gibt es?

Rechteckige Teppiche sind die Klassiker für Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer und Essplatz.
Runde Teppiche lockern klare Möbellinien auf und passen unter runde Esstische oder in Leseecken.
Teppichläufer machen Flure, Küchen und den Platz neben dem Bett wohnlicher.
Nach Material findest du etwa Wollteppiche und Viskoseteppiche, nach Farbe zum Beispiel beige Teppiche oder graue Teppiche.

Teppich kaufen: Darauf solltest du achten

Größe im Wohnzimmer: Der Teppich sollte 20–30 cm breiter sein als das Sofa, und mindestens die Vorderfüße von Sofa und Sesseln sollten darauf stehen. So wirkt die Sitzgruppe als Einheit.
Unter dem Esstisch: Plane 60–70 cm Überstand je Seite ein, damit die Stühle beim Zurückschieben auf dem Teppich bleiben.
Läufer im Flur: Lass zu den Wänden jeweils 10–15 cm Abstand, damit der Boden den Läufer sichtbar einrahmt.
Im Schlafzimmer: Ein Teppich unter dem Bett schaut seitlich idealerweise 50–60 cm hervor, dann trittst du morgens weich auf.
Material: Wolle ist robust, wärmend und von Natur aus schmutzabweisend, Viskose glänzt seidig, reagiert aber empfindlich auf Feuchtigkeit, Jute wirkt natürlich und ist robust, Kunstfasern sind strapazierfähig und pflegeleicht.
Rutschschutz: Eine Antirutschunterlage verhindert Verrutschen und schont Teppich und Boden.

Material & Pflege

Sauge Teppiche regelmäßig ohne rotierende Bürste, besonders Wolle und Viskose, und tupfe Flecken sofort mit einem saugfähigen Tuch ab, statt zu reiben. Neue Wollteppiche fusseln anfangs, das legt sich nach einigen Wochen. Die genauen Pflegehinweise stehen auf jeder Produktseite.
